Tour this magnificent, new innovative winery followed by a sampling of a "flight" of three fine wines. Relax over lunch of Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the Tuscan countryside at the Old Winery Restaurant. In the age-old tradition of the Italian Trattoria with an open kitchen, the sight, sounds and aromas of wonderful Italian cuisine are recreated in this beautifully restored winery building.

THE BEAMSVILLE WINE COUNTRY TOUR

Begin your cycle tour high up on the Niagara Escarpment near Beamsville, Ontario for a visit to the “Bench” Wine Region with its rolling vineyards and spectacular vistas. After being outfitted on a Raleigh touring bicycle by one of our local guides, cycle on country roads to the first stop at DeSousa Wine Cellars. This estate with villa, gardens and groves of trees is a Niagara showpiece. It provides a glimpse into the old world offering traditional Portuguese and VQA wines.

After a private wine tasting, continue the ride on country roads to a new outstanding winery, Fielding Estates, for a tour of this modern winery featuring contemporary Canadian architecture with cottage country warmth. Enjoy a tasting of their handcrafted premium VQA wines.  Next Stop is EastDell Estates for a private wine tasting of premium wines before relaxing on the deck of the View winery restaurant with sweeping vistas of Lake Ontario and the Toronto skyline. Enjoy a sumptuous three course lunch of regional cuisine.

After lunch, take a gradual leisurely ride down the Escarpment with a visit to another award winning winery which may include Thomas & Vaughan Estate Winery, Willow Heights Estate Winery, Malivoire Wine Company or Stoney Ridge Estate Winery.

No need to ride back up the Niagara Escarpment. A passenger van will transport you back to your car or to your accommodations in the area.

JORDAN WINE COUNTRY TOUR

Begin your tour in the beautiful Balls Falls Conservation Area near Jordan, Ontario. Cycle through this conservation area to Featherstone Winery, a small, pretty boutique winery set on the side of the Niagara Escarpment, for a tour and private wine tasting.

Ride on country roads to EastDell Estates for a wine tasting before relaxing over a three course lunch on the deck of the winery’s View Restaurant with sweeping views of rolling vineyards, Lake Ontario, and the Toronto skyline.

After lunch, ride a short distance past rows of vineyards to Fielding Estates. Sample handcrafted premium VQA wines in the Wine Lodge. 

Take a gradual ride down the Niagara Escarpment with breathtaking views of the vineyards and Lake Ontario below and a final stop at one other award winning winery which may include Cave Spring Winery, Kacaba Vineyards, Angel’s Gate, or Thomas & Vaughan.

Self Guided Tours

Although we recommend our guided tours because of the insights into the area provided by a local tour guide, the personal attention received at the wineries including private wine tastings, the picnic lunch in a private vineyard and the pick up of purchases, we do offer self guided tours.

You can rent a bicycle from us and receive a cycling map of the area. We can even organize a picnic lunch for you to eat en route.

Price: Bicycle rentals are $30.00 per day or $20.00 for a half date. Map is free.
